Vintage bride--1950's princess bride

 No where is the overflowing bounty of the 1950's more present than in it's bridal couture. The abundance of the decade is shown to it's most beautiful and joyful in the gracious fullness that is shown in these wedding gowns. The pure joy of looking like a queen, or Princess Grace for that matter, with lace and pearls and yards and yards of crinoline.

The curve and generousness of the female form shown in all it's splendour (now whether you could breathe in that girdle/corset is another matter). It is an unabashedly feminine look. It is an iconic, bridal look.  It in one i hope more girls will look to for inspiration, after nearly a decade of a similar, strapless column.

Saving money but still looking fabulous!

I have  a few more dresses to list, but am waiting for models to pose before listing.  Stay tuned! I just wanted to emphasize that all of these dresses are new or like new. Since your wedding dress is something you will probably never wear again--and something notoriously hard to sell for anywhere near what you have paid--why not save some money and still get the designer/couture look you want?   The bridal gown is often one of the most expensive single items bought for a wedding--usually more than the cake, DJ, or even all the maids dresses put together.  Choosing something for a bargain price can really save you a lot of $$$--but that does not mean you have to LOOK like a bargain.   Look glamorous, beautiful, royal, chic....and save money doing it!

I love the satin buttons all the way down the back. So elegant and pure.  Can't you just see this with a sash? I have a white ribbon sash and a black velvet belt to style this dress for new photos. I am happy to include either with the dress purchase.  This dress is my new favorite! For a a couple of other looks, a very bling-y crystan bridal belt would definately make this an evening look, and a ribbon sash with a huge, white silk flower would make it darling for a garden/outdoor event.

 Satin and chiffon. Worn once and in perfect condition.  Retail $800, asking $200.  Perfect for the bride who wants the princess look, but doesn't want the exposure of a strapless.  The train just goes on and on. Gorgeous! Would look very glamorous with a tiara and a full, shorter veil. 

The Limited bridal collection New with tags size 6

Here is a quick sell, that may suit someone who even just needs a formal. Champagne silk and cotton dress from The Limited's bridal collection. (similar to JCrew's collection). Size 6 with a little wiggle room. Strapless with pockets,  a little belt and no train.  I would trade the belt for a sheer ribbon and flower, if it were me, since it would soften it--but the lack of a train makes it perfect for a less formal event.  The skirt in person is more full than the picture shows, and it has removeable straps.  I will take pictures with models later, but the picture shown is the company photo.  Retail price is $350. Asking $65. 

Pronovias size 12 (8-10) pure ivory silk

gorgeous dress, and i will add more pictures later. New with tags, and just a perfect dress. Sleeveless with a long train. The lack of beading or lace makes it so elegant, and rich looking--very Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly.  With pearls and gloves and maybe a diamond broach, just stunning.  $400 or best offer.

this picture shows the bodice detail better.  The darker lining makes the detail really shine.

This is one of the shots from the company.  The dress can be worn with a ribbon sash, but i don't think it adds anything.  See how in white you can barely distinguish the lace detail? And pure white looks really bad on lots of people.  Unless you are very tan or have very strong coloring (or wear a lot of make up) it can really wash a person out. 

New Essense of Australia dress which has a beautiful, Edwardian/Victorian feel to it. The ivory lace over the beige satin really shows all the delicate detail on the dress, and makes it look almost antique. This is new with tags, never worn except to be tried on.  Size 10, but more like an 8.  Strapless or spaghetti strap with a chapel train.  Crystal buttons down the back of this dress, and though the stock photo shows a sash, one is not included. A double-faced ribbon sash will cost one about $20 at a fabric store or online.  I don't think it needs one. Retail over $1000.00, but i am asking  $350.00  OBO. Augusta Jones two piece satin and alencon lace, trumpet skirt. Size 10 (4-8)

New with tags, Augusta Jones dress. Perfect condition and gorgeous.  The model wearing the dress is a size 2 on top with a 6 on the bottom and while the skirt fit perfectly, i made the top fit.   Due to the lacing the top can be let out to 3 sizes bigger, but not the skirt. One would have to have the skirt altered to make it any bigger than a 6 ish.  Really a beautifully made dress that would look lovely for an outdoor ceremony or on the beach.  Straps can easily be added or a shrug worn.  Retail price is over $1200, but asking $400 or best offer.
