 We also have this long-sleeved Maggie Sottero gown (actual gown at left) I have added the two stock photos, because they are similar styles, but i have not yet found the exact stock photo for this gown. It is slightly off the shoulder with crystal beading on the lace. This dress could be modified to cap sleeves by an alterer very easily. Bridal size 10, pre-owned in perfect condition.

The Vintage Bride...Channeling your Inner Starlet..

Not every woman wants to look  traditional on her wedding day. Some are more sophisticated than sweet--Think Lana Turner or Rita Hayworth, instead of Elizabeth Taylor.  This is especially true when the Bride is past the first blush of youth.  No matter what your age or situation, EVERYONE wants to look their best and most beautiful on their wedding!

Simple Details Make All the Difference... But you also have to use caution with this style.  A plunging neckline may be more appropriate for a cocktail party, not a church.  And, a lingerie inspired, bias-cut gown requires special undergarments to achieve that smooth, flawless look. Frankly, bias-cut satin on anyone of a fuller figure is not the best choice.  If you are a larger size, or full busted, try looking for a layered, A-line gown with beading or draping for a more flattering look.

New this week!  Paloma Blanca ivory strapless gown, with crystal detail and back interest.  Beautiful duchess satin, NWOT, size 10/8.

 I will have these on a model soon, so you can see better pictures of it on a person. The wet weather has precluded us getting good photos of our recent inventory of gowns.  We have had to cancel shoots more than once due to the weather. Vintage bride--1950's princess bride

 No where is the overflowing bounty of the 1950's more present than in it's bridal couture. The abundance of the decade is shown to it's most beautiful and joyful in the gracious fullness that is shown in these wedding gowns. The pure joy of looking like a queen, or Princess Grace for that matter, with lace and pearls and yards and yards of crinoline.

The curve and generousness of the female form shown in all it's splendour (now whether you could breathe in that girdle/corset is another matter). It is an unabashedly feminine look. It is an iconic, bridal look.  It in one i hope more girls will look to for inspiration, after nearly a decade of a similar, strapless column.

Saving money but still looking fabulous!

I have  a few more dresses to list, but am waiting for models to pose before listing.  Stay tuned! I just wanted to emphasize that all of these dresses are new or like new. Since your wedding dress is something you will probably never wear again--and something notoriously hard to sell for anywhere near what you have paid--why not save some money and still get the designer/couture look you want?   The bridal gown is often one of the most expensive single items bought for a wedding--usually more than the cake, DJ, or even all the maids dresses put together.  Choosing something for a bargain price can really save you a lot of $$$--but that does not mean you have to LOOK like a bargain.   Look glamorous, beautiful, royal, chic....and save money doing it!

I love the satin buttons all the way down the back. So elegant and pure.  Can't you just see this with a sash? I have a white ribbon sash and a black velvet belt to style this dress for new photos. I am happy to include either with the dress purchase.  This dress is my new favorite! For a a couple of other looks, a very bling-y crystan bridal belt would definately make this an evening look, and a ribbon sash with a huge, white silk flower would make it darling for a garden/outdoor event.

 Satin and chiffon. Worn once and in perfect condition.  Retail $800, asking $200.  Perfect for the bride who wants the princess look, but doesn't want the exposure of a strapless.  The train just goes on and on. Gorgeous! Would look very glamorous with a tiara and a full, shorter veil.
